There's a First Time for Everything

I taught myself to crochet when I was home recovering from major surgery two years ago, and I've completed a scrapbook for a year's worth of family photos during a snow storm. So, it's not that big of a surprise that I took advantage of these two unexpected "hurricane" days courtesy of Sandy to teach myself how to BLOG. It's something that I've wanted to do for some time now, and my house only needed so much cleaning.

Now, here I am drafting my first blog entry for people outside the Room 202 Family. I've been blogging weekly updates for my parents and students for the last two years, and I think I am ready to reach out to a bigger audience now. I'm not really even sure what I want to say yet. I just know that I love to write, and I've been told I do some creative and effective things in my fifth grade classroom, so this seems like a logical progression in my mind. I'm going to take a deep breath and publish this entry before I chicken out. I'll be back when I've come up with something that I think is worthy of being my first official topic
